5 Days Rwanda Double Gorilla Trekking

Day 1: From Kigali you will transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Rwanda Double Gorilla TrekkingYour Double Gorilla Trekking tours in Rwanda begin on this day upon entry into the country via Kigali International Airport. Our company representative will receive you on arrival, take you around Kigali for a city tour followed by lunch and later departure to Volcanoes National Park. But if you are already in Kigali, you will be picked from your hotel for city tour. You will visit the Genocide memorial centre. And after lunch in Kigali, a journey to Volcanoes national park kicks off taking about 2:30 hours. Check in at the lodge where you will have dinner and overnight stay.

Volcanoes National park lies in northwestern Rwanda. The park, being the home for Rwanda mountain gorillas, is well known for its gorilla trekking tour. It is also where five out of the eight volcanoes of the Virunga Mountains (Karisimbi, Bisoke, Muhabura, Gahinga and Sabyinyo), which are covered in rainforest and bamboo are found. At same Volcanoes National Park, it is where you can do golden monkey tracking and trekking to the Dian Fossey grave site.Overnight dinner and stay at Muhabura Hotel or Lapalme Hotel

Day 2: 1st Gorilla Trekking Starts on this day

An early morning wake up call, prepare and have breakfast. With parked lunch you will go to the park headquarters for a briefing and later begin the trek with the guidance of the park rangers. The adventure of tracking the gorillas, May take 1-8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. You will be with the gorillas for a maximum of one hour. When you are thoroughly done with gorilla trekking, you will start moving back to the lodge. You will have lunch and take a rest. Dinner and overnight stay will be as above.

Day 3: 2nd Gorilla Watching Adventure.

Same gorilla programme like yesterday but with a different gorilla group on request. Dinner and overnight stay will be as above.

Day 4: Golden Monkey tracking, transfer to Lake KivuRwanda Double Gorilla Trekking

After breakfast you will go for Golden monkey tracking. After tracking you will return to the lodge have lunch and check out and to drive to Lake Kivu and get to relax at the beach. Dinner and overnight stay at Stipp Hotel or Serena Hotel Lake Kivu.

Day 5: Boat Ride -transfer to Kigali – Departure

After a morning breakfast, you will go for a boat ride on Lake Kivu. Later on, you will return to the lodge, take an early lunch and check out to drive from Lake Kivu to Kigali. Upon reaching Kigali, you will be transferred to the airport for your departure flight.

Rwanda Double Gorilla Trekking

Volcanoes National Park found in Musanze province is a home to the endangered Mountain Gorillas in Rwanda. The park, Rwanda’s major tourist attraction and the busiest in the country facilitates activities like gorilla tracking safaris, golden monkey trekking, mountain hiking, Dian Fossey hike plus several tours. Volcanoes was named a national park in 1925 purposely to save the endangered mountain Gorillas. Just a few hours’ drive from Kigali, this first National Park in Africa park occupies an Area of 130 km² (2,500 Hectares) in the northwestern region of Ruhengeri. The park also known as Parc Nationale Des Volcans in French borders Virunga National Park in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park on the side of Uganda. Volcanoes National Park is also a home to five of the eight volcanoes of the Virunga Mountains including Karisimbi (4507M), Bisoke (3711M), Muhabura (4127M), Gahinga (3474M) and Sabyinyo (3634M).
