3 Days Chimpanzee Trekking Nyungwe Rwanda

A 3 days Chimpanzee Trekking Nyungwe Forest begins and finishes in Kigali, the capital city of Rwanda. Nyungwe Forest boasts of a large collection of chimpanzees in Rwanda and is the major safari destination during this tour. Rwanda’s Nyungwe National Park is a gigantic Montane Jungle in the south of Rwanda. Nyungwe forest has 13 types of primates comprising of chimps and huge assemblies of Rwenzori colobus. The forest of Nyungwe also has a wealth of life of around 300 species of bird. At Nyungwe, you will also discover orchids and butterflies among the many attractions. Day 1: Arrival in Kigali – Transfer to Nyungwe

On arriving in Rwanda, you will meet your safari guide and then after drive to Nyungwe forest. Have your overnight at Nyungwe forest lodge on full board.

Day 2: Chimps Tracking in Nyungwe Forest in Rwanda

Having enjoyed a timely breakfast, you will set off to discover the primates and attractive magnificence of Nyungwe forest. Watching the primates on the precipitous slopes of Nyungwe forest is quite stimulating but the park escorts at Nyungwe are skilled and well-conversant about most of Nyungwe’s flora and fauna. The park guides will offer you with all the appropriate info about the chimpanzees and primates in Nyungwe forest, for instance the primates’ way of life, reproduction, feeding among others.

The primates you will track in Nyungwe forest consist of; chimps, L’Hoest’s monkeys, golden monkeys, hefty troops of Angola Colobus, Silver Monkey, vervet monkeys, Red-tailed Monkey, Olive Baboon, Hamlyn’s Monkey, Grey-cheeked Mangabeys, Dent’s Mona Monkeys and many more.

A primate safari to Nyungwe woodland will expose you to an exceptional bird watching experience. Nyungwe forest harbors nearly  300 species of birds, out of which 24 species are endemic to the Albertine rift area like the Rwenzori Turaco, prodigious blue Turaco, paradise flycatcher, a long tailed blue, orange and white bird plus the forest hornbills among the many. Transfer back to the lodge for lunch, take a rest and wait for overnight and dinner at the lodge.

Day 3: Canopy Walk in Nyungwe, Transfer back to Kigali

After breakfast in the morning, take a canopy walk in Nyungwe forest and the after start driving back to Kigali. Enjoy lunch enroute, arrive late in the day and take your flight or stay overnight.
